A broken arm motivated Georgia Tech defensive back Ronnie Mabra’s decision to become a lawyer. But it was his desire to help and serve people that in 2007 inspired the founding of Mabra Law, launched literally at the Mabra family’s kitchen table.
As a collegiate athlete and as the son of former Atlanta Falcon Ron Mabra Sr., Ronnie grew up with a front-row seat to the havoc and uncertainty that football injuries could have on careers. Ronnie enrolled in the University of Georgia School of Law intent on becoming a sports attorney. As an agent, he could negotiate professional athletes’ contracts to ensure they would have financial security well beyond their playing years. Ronnie enjoyed some early success in sports law, but he could not shake the urgings of friends and family that he should represent ordinary people who had been injured in accidents. Personal injury work suited Ronnie’s personality and representing injured plaintiffs satisfied his desire to help others.
After a few years at a Fayetteville, Ga. personal injury firm, and encouraged by his wife and family to “walk on faith and not by sight,” Ronnie launched Mabra Law. The firm quickly outgrew its initial kitchen-table/meeting-clients-at-a-coffee-shop model and moved into offices on Camp Creek Parkway. From 2011 to 2015, Ronnie served two terms in Georgia’s House of Representatives, after which the Mabra Law team moved to a more spacious Midtown Atlanta location.
In 2021 the firm built and opened its current state-of-the-art headquarters in West Midtown. Today the Mabra Law team skillfully and compassionately represents clients throughout Georgia and beyond, with additional offices in Warner Robins (Middle Georgia) and Tifton (South Georgia).
