Fatal Accidents in Georgia

Car accidents that result in death are tragic events that can have far-reaching consequences for individuals, families, and communities. A fatal car accident can be devastating to a family's emotional and financial well-being.

Distracted driving, drunk driving, speeding, and reckless behavior are all common causes of fatal car accidents. These types of accidents are frequently avoidable by adhering to traffic laws, paying attention to the road, and driving responsibly.

When a person is killed in a car accident caused by the negligence of another driver, the surviving family has the legal right to file a wrongful death claim against the at-fault driver.

The family of the deceased will be able to seek justice in the form of financial compensation for the loss of their loved one.

Although no amount of money can ever compensate for the loss of a loved one, the system is in place to assist the family in recovering financially from the tragic accident and to punish the negligent party.

If someone you care about dies as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident, the first thing you should do is talk to an experienced Wrongful Death Lawyer about what happened. This will help you determine whether you have the legal right to seek financial compensation for the death of your loved one.

It can be extremely difficult for an individual to handle a wrongful death claim or negotiate with an insurance company on their own. If you do not have a lawyer on your side, the insurance company will either try to settle the case for the smallest amount possible or simply refuse to pay anything at all.

When you hire an attorney to assist you with your claim, they will ensure that you receive compensation for the following:

  • Funeral and burial expenses.
  • Any outstanding medical bills.
  • Loss of earning capacity.
  • The loss of your loved one’s future income.
  • Grief and emotional trauma.
  • Pain and suffering.
  • Loss of consortium.
  • Loss of caregiving capacity.
