Cobb County, GA (Sept. 5, 2023) – A collision in the Town Center neighborhood on Thursday morning sent two people to the hospital, one of them with significant injuries, according to the Cobb County Police Department.
According to authorities, the collision happened on Barrett Parkway close to the intersection with Bells Ferry Road at approximately 9:22 a.m.
Bells Ferry Road was approaching when a 63-year-old woman from Marietta was driving a black 2004 Buick Rainer west on Piedmont Road, which becomes Barrett Parkway. A 28-year-old Cartersville man was riding a black 2022 Harley Davidson Heritage Classic motorcycle east on Barrett Parkway.
The motorcycle driver entered the Buick’s path when he started to turn left onto Bells Ferry Road while in the left turn lane, according to the police. The motorcyclist was ejected after the Buick collided with the Harley Davidson.
According to authorities, the motorcyclist suffered severe injuries and was transported by EMS to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.
Police reported that the Buick’s driver was slightly hurt. A family member drove her to Kennestone’s location.
Motorcycle collisions are among the most serious and potentially fatal types of vehicular accidents.
Motorcycles do not have the same safety features as other vehicles, and the majority of motorcycle accidents occur at high speeds. Survivors of motorcycle accidents who do not die frequently sustain severe neck and back injuries, broken bones, and head injuries.
When another driver’s negligence causes a motorcycle accident, the victim has the legal right to seek compensation for their losses. If a motorcyclist is killed in an accident, the deceased’s family may sue the other driver for wrongful death if the other driver was at fault.
If you want to file a claim for personal injury or wrongful death, you should consult with an attorney who has handled similar cases.
It can be difficult to obtain the full amount of compensation that you are owed if you do not have a Personal Injury Lawyer on your side.
