Cobb County, Georgia (April 12, 2023) - Following a fatal accident involving a dump truck on Wednesday morning, police closed down a busy Cobb County road.
Around 4:50 a.m., the crash occurred in the northbound lanes of Atlanta Road, just past Bolton Road.
A white 2005 Mack 7000 dump truck was traveling north on the road when its dump bed collided with the railroad bridge support, flipping the vehicle onto its side, according to officials.

All lanes of Atlanta Road were closed while crews work on the scene.
Even though car accidents frequently involve multiple vehicles, single-vehicle accidents occur on a regular basis.
A single-vehicle collision can occur for a variety of reasons, and they occur more frequently than one might think.
If you are the only one in the accident, you may believe you are automatically at fault and must pay for your own damages. This, however, is not always the case. Even if your vehicle was the only one involved in the accident, you may be able to seek compensation if the accident was caused by the negligence of another party.
It is critical for drivers to understand their options in the event of a single-car accident, as well as the legal ramifications that can occur as a result of such an accident.
A driver is liable if his or her actions were the direct cause of a single-vehicle accident.
Our experienced Car Accident Lawyers may be able to help you with your claim after a single-vehicle accident.
If you were involved in a single-vehicle accident and believe it was caused by someone else's careless or negligent behavior, you may be able to recover compensation for your losses.
Accidents involving a single vehicle can be stressful, especially if someone else is at fault. To prove that another driver or entity caused your vehicle to crash, you will need the assistance of an attorney.
Accidents involving only one vehicle can also be fatal. The absence of another vehicle does not diminish the gravity of the accident.
If a single-vehicle accident kills someone, the family of the deceased driver may be able to hire a Wrongful Death Attorney to assist with their claim if they believe the crash was caused by another party.
