Marietta, GA – Roadway reopens following an SUV and tractor trailer collision
Marietta, GA (October 30, 2023) – On last Tuesday, October 24, afternoon, an SUV got tucked under a flatbed tractor-trailer, forcing the closure of a stretch of Canton Road in Marietta.
The accident caused the closure of several blocks of Canton Road south of its intersection with the Canton Connector, between Sandy Plains Road and Ruby Street, for quite some time.
The tractor-trailer attempted to turn into oncoming traffic at around 5 p.m. Both lanes were obstructed by the tractor-trailer.
The SUV driver, according to the Marietta Police Department, was seriously injured.
Truck Accidents in Georgia
Commercial vehicles transport goods or passengers for a company or an individual. In other words, they are intended for business use rather than personal use. A commercial vehicle’s liability in an accident can influence how an accident victim seeks compensation.
It is not always clear who is to blame when a commercial vehicle is involved in an accident.
When two cars collide, one or both drivers are usually at fault. The at-fault driver(s) would then be held liable for the damages. This usually means that their car insurance company will cover the costs.
However, liability for a truck accident may fall on the driver, the company that employs the driver, or a third party, such as a manufacturer or mechanic.
You may be entitled to compensation if you were injured in a commercial vehicle accident. It is necessary to determine who caused the accident, who hired the driver, and what kind of insurance they have.
