Fatal Car Accidents in Georgia
Nobody wants to hear that a family member has died in a car accident. The emotional and financial damage that a fatal car accident can inflict on a family is devastating.
When someone loses their life in a car accident, and it was the result of another driver’s negligent actions, the surviving family has a legal right to file a wrongful death claim against the at-fault driver.
The family of the deceased will have the opportunity to seek justice in the form of compensation for the loss of their loved one.
Although no amount of money will ever make up for the loss of someone you care about, the system is in place to help the family recover financially from the tragic accident, as well as punish the negligent person for the actions.
When someone you care about dies in a car accident, the first step to take is to speak with an experienced Pearson Car Accident Lawyer regarding the circumstances of the accident to find out if you’re able to seek compensation for your loss.
Handling a wrongful death claim or insurance company negotiations on your own can be extremely difficult. Without an attorney, the insurance company will try to offer you the smallest possible settlement amount or deny your claim entirely.
When you hire an attorney to assist with your claim, they will make sure you receive compensation for the following:
- Funeral and burial expenses.
- Any outstanding medical bills.
- The loss of your loved one’s future income.
- Pain and suffering.
- Loss of earning capacity.
- Loss of consortium.
- Loss of caregiving capacity.
- Grief and emotional trauma.
