Duluth, GA – Two Killed in Head-On Collision
Duluth, Georgia (April 22, 2023) - According to Gwinnett County Police, two people were killed in a crash on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard on Friday afternoon.
Around 3 p.m., the crash occurred in front of the Suwanee Creek Pump Station, which is located at 1758 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., just north of Suwanee Creek.
Police have not released many details about the crash, but dash cam video appears to show a white extended cab pickup truck trying to pull into the emergency lane as a gray coupe approaches. Unfortunately, the coupe also decided in a split second to try to avoid the collision by swerving into the emergency lane.
The pickup truck collided with the coupe's driver's side before rolling over and landing upright. The coupe spun to the side of the road. Both vehicles were severely damaged.
It was unclear whether the two people killed in the crash were both drivers or if the crash involved more than two people.
For about three hours, traffic was diverted off Peachtree Industrial Boulevard at Sugarloaf Parkway while crews worked to clear the accident.
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
