Hall County, GA (December 5, 2022) - A 76-year-old man from Gainesville was killed on Saturday, December 3rd, in a head-on collision on Browns Bridge Road near Cherokee Trail in Hall County just before 8 a.m.

According to Georgia State Patrol, the driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe failed to maintain his lane while turning eastbound and struck a Ford F250 that was traveling westbound head-on.

The collision caused the Tahoe to rotate counterclockwise and come to an uncontrolled rest in the roadway facing west, where the driver was pronounced dead.

The collision caused the F250 to travel off the north edge of the roadway and overturn into a ditch.

The passenger in the Tahoe was a 74-year-old woman from Gainesville, and the driver of the F250 was a 40-year-old man from Flowery Branch. They were both taken to the hospital with possible injuries.

The driver of the Tahoe was declared the at-fault driver in the accident.

Fatal Car Accidents in Georgia

No one wants to hear that a close friend or family member died because of serious injuries from a car crash. The emotional and financial devastation that can be inflicted on a family can often be the result of the chaotic aftermath that follows a fatal car accident.

When a person is injured in a car accident caused by the negligence of another driver, that person has the legal right to file a personal injury lawsuit against the negligent driver. They may be entitled to compensation for unpaid medical bills, lost wages, property damage, emotional distress, and physical pain and suffering.

If the victim dies as a result of the injuries sustained in the accident, the victim's surviving family members may file a wrongful death claim on behalf of their deceased loved one who was killed in the accident. In this way, the deceased's family attempts to obtain justice for the loss of their loved one.

Furthermore, a family member will have the opportunity to file a wrongful death lawsuit and receive compensation for the financial and emotional losses they have suffered as a result of their loved one's death.

The first step for family members who have lost a loved one in a fatal car accident is to seek legal counsel from a Wrongful Death Attorney.

It can be very challenging to handle wrongful death litigation or insurance company negotiations on your own. Without an attorney, the insurance company will try to offer you the lowest settlement amount possible or try to deny your claim altogether.

When you hire an experienced wrongful death lawyer, they will make sure you receive maximum compensation for the following:

  • Funeral and burial expenses.
  • Any outstanding medical bills.
  • The loss of your loved one’s future income.
  • Pain and suffering.
  • Loss of earning capacity.
  • Loss of consortium.
  • Loss of caregiving capacity.
  • Grief and emotional trauma.

If someone you cared about passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a car crash, you have the legal right to pursue justice and compensation on their behalf.

A lawyer who specializes in fatal car accident cases can help you develop your case, gather evidence, negotiate with insurance adjusters, and, if necessary, present your case in court.
