Hall County, GA (November 12, 2022) - According to the Georgia State Patrol, two K9s belonging to the Hall County Sheriff's Office were injured in a collision involving a tractor-trailer on November 11 and were transported to a veterinary hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Troopers responded to the accident at Browns Bridge Road near Lamplighter Cove Road around 10:25 a.m. on Friday, November 11.

As he made his way west on Browns Bridge Road, a deputy from the Hall County Sheriff's Office had to stop his 2018 F-150, which serves as the department's K9 vehicle, due to the heavy traffic. Both Timo and Bella, the deputy's K9s, were housed in their kennels in the back of the truck.

A 60-year-old man from Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, was driving a tractor-trailer when he reportedly rear-ended a vehicle belonging to the Sheriff's Office due to following too closely, as reported by the state patrol.

It was not specified by state patrol how serious the injuries were to either dog, but they did say they were taken to a local veterinary hospital for treatment.

The deputy only sustained minor injuries, so he did not require transport to a hospital for treatment.

The state patrol did not comment on whether or not the driver of the tractor-trailer was hurt.

The investigation being conducted by the Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team will determine what type of charges will be brought.

According to a statement released by the Sheriff's Office, the deputy and K9 Bella, who were injured in the accident, will go back to work on November 15. K9 Timo received some cuts and scrapes in the accident and will be back on duty in the near future.
