Jesup, Georgia (January 1, 2023) - A man from Jesup was killed in a single-vehicle accident that occurred in the early morning hours of New Year's Day in  Wayne County.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, just after 2 a.m., a 21-year-old man was driving south on Sunset Boulevard near Hinson Moseley Road when he lost control of his 2011 Chevy Silverado and collided with a tree.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where it was determined that he had passed away.

His next of kin have been notified, and the reason for the accident is still under investigation.
