Pedestrian Accidents in Georgia

A pedestrian typically refers to people walking, such as a jogger, a student walking to school, or anyone out for a stroll. Wheelchair users and small children on tricycles or scooters are also included. A pedestrian is anyone who is not driving a motorized vehicle on the road.

Accidents involving pedestrians are extremely dangerous. They are more serious than other types of accidents because a car can cause significant damage to an unprotected person even when moving slowly. Almost all pedestrian accidents result in injuries, and many result in death.

The law treats pedestrian accidents in the same way that it does motor vehicle accidents. Victims have the right to seek reimbursement for the full amount of their medical bills as well as any other damages incurred as a result of the accident.
